97 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, September 12, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio in Lima, Ohio.
Born Friday, February 6, 1914 in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Law and the late Alice Shinner Law. She was the wife of the late Robert Altenbach.
Catherine married Robert Altenbach on February 11, 1936 in Lima, Ohio. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1988. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Theodore Graff. She was a secretary for Longmeier Stippich and a clerk for Stippich Hardware. She was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary and Bereavement Groups. She was a member of the Eagles Aerie Auxiliary 370, Elks Auxiliary 54, and Lima Senior Citizens and volunteered there. She was a member of the Red Hat "Honey Bears". She was the Grand Marshall of the Lima Irish Parade in 2004. She enjoyed Line Dancing and Dance Aerobics, playing bridge and spending time taking trips with her Red Hat Friends. She enjoyed Friday Breakfast with "The Gang".
Surviving are sons, David (Janice) Altenbach of Bradenton, FL, Tom (Marilyn) Altenbach of Lima, OH and Dan (Cheryl) Altenbach of Bradenton, FL, brother, Edward (Mary) Graff of St. Petersburg, FL. Seventeen grandchildren, Twenty-Seven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by son, Bobby Altenbach, two grandchildren and a brother, Clifford Law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Gerard's Catholic Church with Father Mike Houston officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
