Catherine Paradore

CATHERINE M. PARADORE, 83, died at 8:10 a.m. October 23, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1922, in Lima, Ohio to Christ and Lyda Busick Gelo, who preceded her in death. On May 30, 1942, she married John W. Paradore Sr., who died September 17, 1978. Mrs. Paradore had been a sales clerk at Gregg's Department Store and Elder Beerman, for several years. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She was a member of the Senior Citizens and had been a member of Sigma Zeta Beta Sorority. Survivors include a son, John W. (Alice) Paradore of Elida, Ohio; a daughter, Karen (Ken) Piercefield of Elida, Ohio; a sister, Janet Althoff of Lima, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Fran Gelo and Dorothy Steward, both of Lima, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Scott Paradore of Lima, Ohio, Shawn Paradore of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael (Melanie) Piercefield of Wooster, Ohio, Christopher (Elaine) Piercefield of Lima, Ohio, Brian (Richelle) Piercefield of Deshler, Ohio, Nicole (Jim) Latham of Lima, Ohio and Lindsay (Brian McCormick) Piercefield of Indiana; and 10 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Joel, Jared, Ashley, Brandon, Andrea, C.J., Haley and Tyler. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Gelo; and three sisters, Mary Gelo and Betty Gelo and Phyllis Kilgore. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church. The Rev. William J. Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
