Cathie Meier Ahmed

CATHIE A. MEIER AHMED, 50, died at 2:05 p.m. November 24, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. She was born July 12, 1955, in Lima, Ohio to Leroy and Jeanne Mack Meier, and both survive in Lima, Ohio. She was formerly married to Javed Ahmed, and he died in June 2004. Mrs. Ahmed was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She worked for the city of Lima in code enforcement and property maintenance for the past eight years. She was a 1973 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. She was a graduate of Northwestern Business School and earned her associate degree in office administration. She loved her grandchildren, cooking, reading, crafts and shopping on eBay. Survivors also include a daughter, Annelise "Lise" Hopkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Karen (Clarence) Neeper of Lima, Ohio, and Robin (Pete) White of Lima, Ohio; a grandson, Cameron Hopkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; a granddaughter, Chiara Meier of Cincinnati, Ohio, four nephews, Mike, Jon, Kurt and Zach; four nieces, Marta, Brittany, Ashley and Katie; and four great-nephews, Jordan, Christian, Ethan and Brayden. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Meier; her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Katherine Mack; and her paternal grandparents, Lewis and Florence Meier. Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. David Yeiser will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
