Cecil Gordon

CECIL JUNE GORDON, 90, died at 10:14 a.m. October 18, 2004, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 5, 1914, in Mercer County to Fred Wilbur and Vera Ault Thomas, who preceded her in death. On June 18, 1933, she married Eugene Gordon, who died October 1, 1994. Mrs. Gordon worked at Mohler's Flowers for 45 years. She was a member of South Side Christian Church and its Mary Martha Class and Christian Women's Fellowship. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann (Don) Ziegenbusch of Lima, Ohio; Freda Barnes of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Steve Ziegenbusch, Deb (Brian) Oakman, Julie (Tim) Bame, Jennifer, (Brian) Sharp and Matt Gordon; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deloris Gordon; a son, William T. Gordon; three brothers, Edwin Thomas, Vern Thomas and Paul E. Thomas; and three sisters, Hazel Keller, Doris McKinney and Mary Striff. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas E. Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
