Charles Roderick Burrell

Charles Roderick Burrell,
83, passed away at 2:07 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Primrose Retirement Community in Lima, Ohio.
Charles was born on Wednesday, May 25, 1932, to the late Floyd and L. Marzell Burrell. On Saturday, December 15, 1962, he married Leona Mae (Stephan) Burrell who survives in Lima.
Mr. Burrell was a 1950 Graduate of Minor High School in Birmingham, AL. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked at Buckeye Pipeline for 38 years. He was a member of New Creation (formerly Peace) Lutheran Church, Lima, Ohio, where he served on the Church Council. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Brands Lake Fishing Club in Wapakoneta, OH. He also enjoyed playing cards. He traveled with his wife to the Smokey Mountains, Branson, MO., Texas and Florida.
He is survived by: two daughters, Darlene (Jason) Risner, Wapakoneta, and Susan (Patrick) Burnish, Arlington, VA; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Burrell; grandchildren, Amburr Longfellow, Alesha (Matt) Castner, Adam Horton, Noah Risner, Thomas Risner, Shane Burrell, Cody Burrell, Angel Burrell, Ashley Burrell and David Burrell, Jr.; great grandchildren, four; and a sister, Myra (Jerry) Wood, Valdosta, GA.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Steven Burrell and David Burrell and a sister Doris LaGette.
The family would like to express the gratitude to the staff at Primrose Retirement Community and to St. Rita's Hospice and special caregivers Pam Mull and Barb Hollar.
The family will receive friends Tuesday July 21, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. Pastor Joy Miller will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
