Charles Romanus ?Chuck? Huston, 90, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Lima, died Dec. 10, 2008, at Imperial Point Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was born June 10, 1918, in Lisbon to Robert and Bertha Bour Huston, who preceded him in death. On June 12, 1948, he married Anastasia Elnore ?Stasia? Calvelage, who died Dec. 14, 1996. His companion, Louise Walczyk, survives in Pompano Beach, Fla. Mr. Huston retired as an industrial engineer from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant after 16 years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a member of the Ford Retirees Club and Orchid Hills Tennis Club, Lima, where he participated in several tournaments, and the Sea Garden Tennis Club, Pompano Beach, Fla. He was a graduate of Ohio Northern University, Ada. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving with the 462nd Bomb Group from 1942 to 1945. He enjoyed making stained glass and taking computer classes. In recent years, he had lived in Pompano Beach, Fla., to be near his companion. He enjoyed playing tennis and continued to play into his 80s. Survivors also include four children, Virginia Huston La-Point and Robert Huston, both of Lima, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Huston, of Worthington, and Laura (Jim) Hoburg, of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Karen Huston, of Florida; eight grandchildren, Graystone LaPoint, Jordan Huston, Zachary Huston, Mila (Coy) Warren, Shannon Huston, Jack (Shawnte) Huston, Huston Hoburg and Shane McCracken. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Huston; and a brother, Edwin Huston. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Father David Beck will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Daily Bread.
