Charles J. Kelly, 91 of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, December 2, 2012

Born Wednesday, February 23, 1921 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles Kelly and the late Gertrude Hurst Kelly. He was the husband of Betty Dielman Kelly.

He was employed by Kelly Coal & Builders.

He served in the Air Force from 1942 until 1945. He was a Veteran of World War II.

Charles J. Kelly married on December 8, 1946 Betty V. Dielman who survives. Mr. Kelly worked for thirty years with his father at Kelly Coal & Builder's Supply Co., and retired as building supply manager for the Lima Lumber Company. He had worked there for approximately ten years. Mr. Kelly was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima, Ohio. He was a 66 year (joined in 1946) member of Garrett Wykoff Lodge #585, Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the Valley of Dayton Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, 32 Degree Mason, and Antioch Shrine of Dayton, and the Lima Shrine Club. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge #54, a charter member of the West Central Builder's Association, a former member of the Ohio Building Material Dealers Association, serving on the board of Directors for eight years and a past president; a World War II veteran, serving the 211th Army Air Force Base unity, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge #1275. Mr. Kelly was a graduate of Central High School, and attended Marshall College at Huntington, W. Virginia.

Also surviving are two sons, Stephen C. Kelly, of Chicago, IL and Thomas C. (Sharon) Kelly, of Fort Myers Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Shaun (Tanya) Kelly and Kevin (Kaycee) Kelly; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Noah, and Zaidek; and two nieces, Diane Trettin and Elizabeth Handlan.

He was predeceased by a sister, Katheryn Williams.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will follow at 4:00 PM on Saturday.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. David Harris officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Garrett Wykoff Lodge #585, F. & A. M., 2165 North Cole Street, Lima, Ohio 45801.
