Clara Beery

Clara Marie Beery, 95, died at 9:21 a.m. March 28, 2008, at her residence. She was born January 17, 1913, in Monroe Township to Ellsworth L. and Chloe Bushong Michael, who preceded her in death. On July 26, 1935, in Lima,Ohio, she married Virgil ?Pete? Beery, who died July 22, 1983. Mrs. Beery had worked at the Allen County Clerk of Courts and Board of Elections offices. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She attended Prairie School, Monroe Township, was a 1929 graduate of Beaverdam High School, and attended Northwester Business College. Survivors include a daughter, Sara J. Beery, of Longmont, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Carmen Michael, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four nieces, Marcia Winkelmann, Karen Michael, Joyce Davis and Vonda Beery; and four nephews, John Murray, Greg Moser, Robert Michael and Kevin Michael. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Michael, Donald Michael and Robert Michael; an infant sister, Helen Madelle Michael; her stepmother, Effie Bassitt Michael; a stepsister, Edythe Conaway; and her foster parents, Noah and Mattie Spitzer. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. David Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery, Cairo, Ohio.
