Clifford Bradley

Clifford C. Bradley, 86, died at 1:25 a.m. March 28, 2008, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1921, in Langley, Kentucky, to Joe and Pearlie Stephens Bradley, who preceded him in death. In 1943, he married Sylvia Lafferty, who died Aug. 12, 1999. Mr. Bradley had worked in the coal mines in Kentucky. After moving to Lima, he worked through Labor Local Union 329 and retired from there. He was a member of Lima Freewill Baptist Church. He served in CCC during World War II building roads. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he leaves many friends and family who will remember his joy in life and his service to the Lord. Survivors include a son, Roger L. (Cathie) Moore, of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Lisa Upshaw, of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Ruth (Arnold) Moore, Bonnie Bradley and Wanda Louise (Lawrence) Howard, all of Floyd County, Kentucky; three brothers, Bill (Fay) Bradley, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Bob (Lema) Bradley, of Floyd County, Kentucky and Francis Coy Bradley, of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Lynn) Smith, Kathie Jo (Peter) Dove, Craig Moore, Scott Moore, Dejah Mason, Sarah Mason and Charles Hicks, all of Lima, Ohio; two step-grandchildren, Nanci (Bryan) Lindholz, of Springboro, Ohio, and Brian (Kara) Neiford, of Miamisburg, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; a former daughter-in-law, Jane A. Moore; special friends and caregivers, David and Mary Trusty; and a brother-in-law, Willis Haws. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Susie Bradley, Zada Ratliff, Clara Bradley Parker and Shirley Haws; and three brothers, Gorman Bradley, Harlen Bradley and Clyde Bradley. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery, Lima. David Trusty and Pastor Russell D. Manns will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Freewill Baptist Church, 1507 N. Grant, Lima, OH 45801.
