Corey Byrd

Corey Edward Byrd, 33, died at 11:40 a.m. December 2, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born March 31, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio to Ocie Lee Thompson and Maude Elizabeth Pass Byrd. His father survives. His mother preceded him in death. On September 18, 2010, he married Christine Marie Gilgenbach, who survives. Mr. Byrd was raised in Rehobeth Temple, Columbus, Ohio. He loved to sing karaoke and loved dancing. He was an Ohio and Minnesota football fan. He loved spending time with his children and was a father figure to many children. Survivors also include three daughters, Alivia Lynnette Byrd-Fee, Coreyanna Maude Elizabeth Byrd and Alexa Jo Dye, all of Lima, Ohio; a son, Corey Edward Byrd II, of Lima, Ohio; five brothers, Gerald Rame Pass, David Lee Byrd, Anthony Ocie Thompson, Micheal Lloyd Thompson and Timothy Terrell Thompson, all of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Monique Beatrice Byrd, Tiffany Ann Thompson, Carolyn Nichole Thompson and MaryAnn Ashley Thompson, all of Columbus, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A going home service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
