Dale Kent Staley 71, died at 12:20 a.m. September 27, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 9, 1937, in Bluffton, Ohio to C. Richard and M. Virginia Lora Staley, who preceded him in death. On September 16, 1956, in Lima, Ohio he married Linda L. Vance, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Staley retired from Ford Motor Co. He was baptized at Bethel Church of Christ and was an active participant at Rousculp Church of Christ. He was a member of the area Cushman Skooter Clubs and enjoyed restoring them. In his younger years he coached his son?s Little League baseball and Midget football teams at Gomer and Elida. Survivors also include two daughters, Cyndy (Greg Dungan) Staley-Swaim and Lisa (Steven) Maxwell, both of Lima, Ohio; a son, Kent Allen (Julie) Staley, of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren, Joshua (Melissa) Swaim, Melissa (Kris Carpenter) Maxwell-Knotts, Stephen P. (Karla) Maxwell, Tyler Staley and Collin Staley, all of Lima, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren, Ciara, Mitch, Trenton, Joshua Paul, Presley, Ryan, Bailey, Dominic and Trevor, all of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Kaye (Herbert) Elwood, of Bluffton, Ohio; and a niece, Tonya Ridenour, of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen M. Ridenour. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rousculp Church of Christ. Minister Mark Vernick will officiate. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
