Daniel Evans

Daniel “Dan” E. Evans, 73, passed away at 6:10 am on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Lost Creek Care Center.

Dan was born on December 28, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Gene and Mary {Ayers} Evans.  On February 14, 1981, he married Linda D. {Bible} Evans, who survives in Lima.

Dan worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier for 29 years and as a clerk for 10 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He loved to play golf, putting puzzles together, reading, and his animals. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan and played softball, bowled, and played darts for Fat Jacks.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a son: Michael Evans, sisters: Pat (Carl) Worsham, and Carol (Ron) Strange, brothers-in-law: Dennis (Marilyn) Bible, Bill (Mary) Bible, and Pastor Ted (Jean) Bible, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Pastor Ted Bible will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima.
