60, died at 6:43 PM on Monday, July 06, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
Danny was born on Friday, September 17, 1954, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Lunda and Leila [Hicks] Poe.

He was a 1972 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio. He was a Vietnam Era Army Veteran. He was employed at Allen/Oakwood Correctional Facility serving as an attendant, guard and training officer for the last 32 years. On June 28, 1980 he married Inga Baughman who survives in Lima. He loved coaching Midget Rebel Football, Elida Traveling Basketball and Lima Gator Basketball. His passion was The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Elida Bulldogs. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by two daughters, Nikiah McIver, of Lima, OH and Britanya (Thomas Moore) Poe, of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren, Marcel Poe and Kyra McIver of Lima, OH; a sister, Karen (William) Ream, of Lima, OH; father-in-law & mother-in-law - Frank "Bing"and Ruth (Hill) Baughman, of Lima, OH;

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 09, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 09, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Pastor Samuel Payne will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio with a graveside service on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.

Graveside military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donors choice or the Elida Bulldog Athletic Boosters.
