David M. Maxwell,
89, passed away at 12:05 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his residence in Gomer, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born on Saturday, April 2, 1927, to the late Fred and Winnie (Jones) Maxwell. On Monday, July 12, 1948, in Kentucky, he married Sidney Miracle who survives in Gomer.
David served in the Army in WWII. He was an avid gardener and when asked "D.M." what are you doing? He answered, watching my garden grow. He loved to feed people. Reborned, into God's family February 10, 1963. He was happiest singing, preaching and teaching God's word. After his rebirth he lived to serve God and that he did.
He is survived by: son, David (Sharon) Maxwell of Georgia; daughters, Elouise (John) Hittle of Ft. Jennings, Joyce Marsee of Lima; sons, Steve (Lisa) Maxwell of Lima, Jeff (Kim) Maxwell of Lima, Tim (Brenda) Maxwell of Lima and Paul Maxwell of Gomer; twenty-one Grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: two sisters; six brothers and a daughter, Kim Osting.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 2 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 2 PM on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Pastor Chris Page will officiate.
Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
