David K. "Tiny" Shepler

David "Tiny" Shepler,

48, died at 4:48 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at his home in Harrod, surrounded by his family.

David was born on Friday, April 25, 1969, in Lima, to Larry Sr. and Kathleen (Mull) Shepler.

David was a graduate of Allen East High School. He was very active with 4-H in Allen County and was Trustee and Vice President of the Ohio Western Horse Association.

Along with his father Larry and stepmother Peggy he is survived by a special companion, Deb Hilty, Harrod; children, Denise (Darren) McKenzie, Lafayette, Doug (Vicki) Hilty, Beaverdam, Diane Hilty, Lafayette and Dan (Kim) Hilty, Wapakoneta; grandchildren, Kylie, Austin and Hayden McKenzie, Malori and Troy Zanick, Samantha Vondenhuevel, Wyatt Hilty, Jared Melson and Miranda Hilty; siblings, Frank Mull, Harrod, Larry "Eddie" (Beverly) Shepler, Jr., Bluffton, Julie (Ronald) Osborn, Piketon,  Jim (Beckie) Shepler, Bluffton; step-sisters, Deborah (Dan Girdler) Leal, Cygnet, Rebecca (Jim) Taylor, Woodville, Jennifer (Dan) Kohl, Lima.

He is preceded in death by his mother Kathleen.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.  Rev. Ted Bible will officiate.  Interment will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Allen County 4-H Horse Council.
