67, died at 6:24 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.

David was born on October 19, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Jack Welker and Velma (Stewart) Burkhard.

David married Joyce Smith on January 21, 1967 in Lima, Ohio. She survives in Lima. He worked for Clark Equipment, Brunner News & Exel Logistics from which he retired in 2013. He was an avid bowler for 45 years, coached Jr. bowling for over 40 years at the 20th Century Lanes. He was inducted into the Lima Bowling Hall of Fame 2013 (Jessica Sanford Award). He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Camping, decorating for Christmas & Halloween, dressing up and playing Santa for the neighborhood kids and the bowlers. He loved his yellow lab Misty. He was a life member of the Orioles Club and the Eagles #370 both of Lima.

He is survived by three daughters, Joyce Marie (Terry) Routson, Jodi (Andy) Gross, and Tracie Lynn Baker; nine grandchildren, Zackery Baker, Brandon Baker, Ronald Everman; Cody Routson, Ciara Routson, Joshua Routson, William (Sandra) Birchfield, Andrea Gross, Raistlin Birchfield; two great grandchildren, Dalton Nolte and Maximus Routson; a sister, Robbie (Larry) Spees and two brothers, Terry Welker, Jerry Welker.

He was preceded in death by: a grandchild, Mercedes Everman.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH., with Reverend Ty Gehle officiating the service.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio.
