Dean Ewing

Dean Ewing, 75, passed away on June 2, 2022, at his residence in Lima, surrounded by his family.

Dean was born on December 1, 1946 in Lima, Ohio, to Albert and Evelyn (Horn) Ewing.  On December 19, 1980 he married Darlene (Russell) Ewing, who survives in Lima.

Dean was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam.  He worked as a meat cutter at Pangles Grocery and a truck driver for Roeder Cartage.  He was a member of the Eagles, Elks, Moose, American Legion and past member of the Waynesfield Lions Club.  Dean was also a past Wayne Township Fire Department Volunteer.

Along with his wife he is survived by his children: Mike (Stacey) Parks of Cairo, Karen Sparks of Cincinnati, Doug (Sharon) Ewing of Lima, Deana (Shawn) Klenke of Waynesfield, David (LaVonna) Ewing of Wapokoneta; 16 grandchildren; and his siblings: Gene (Renee) Ewing of Waynesfield, Barb (Kathy) Ewing of Delaware, and Diane Trueblood of California.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at the funeral home.  Chaplain Herb Wilker will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local Veterans charities.
