DEAN J. HOLLAR, 81, died at 3 a.m. April 29, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1926, in Lima, Ohio to Stanley and Jennieve Worthington Hollar, who preceded him in death. On May 24, 1946, he married A. Eileen Williams, who died January 10, 2007. Mr. Hollar retired as a business agent from Labor Local 329. He then worked as an instructor at Laborers Training Center and was currently working at TRC Honda Test Track. He was a member of Rousculp Church of Christ, where he was loved by all and known to many as "The Candy Man." He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lakeview, Ohio, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima, Ohio. Survivors include four children, Ralph (Linda) Hollar, of Lima, Ohio, Robert (Darlene) Hollar, of Elida, Ohio, and Carleen (Robert "Bob") Montgomery and Steven (Marie) Hollar, both of Lima, Ohio; two brothers, James (Jerry) Hollar, of Lima, Ohio, and Bill (Bonnie) Hollar, of Bluffton, Ohio; a sister, Glenna Barnett, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Walter Stanley Hollar; a brother, Vernon Hollar; and a sister, Rhea Sommer. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Vernik will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
