Delores J. Smith, 70, died at 10:17 a.m. Oct. 18, 2010, at her residence. She was born Feb. 5, 1940, in Washington Court House to George W. and Margaret L. Minshall DeWeese, who preceded her in death. On March 17, 1956, she married Charles O. ?Red? Smith, who survives in Lima. Mrs. Smith loved spending time with her family, to whom she devoted all her time and love. Survivors also include a daughter, Sherry A. (Patrick) Ahern, of Brunswick; three sons, Charles O. (Denece) Smith Jr., of Columbus, and Rodger L. (Lisa) Smith and Richard L. (Diana) Smith, both of Lima; five siblings, Rosa Brannon, of Washington Court House, George W. DeWeese and Lowella Robert, both of Florida, and Juanita Seyfang and Joyce Randolph, both of Washington Court House; six grandchildren, Shaun C. Ahern, Ryan C. Ahern, Kristen A. (Michael) Fisher, Cynthia M. Smith, Heather M. Smith and Rodger L. Smith Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Ava Noel Fisher, Leah Rose Fisher and Michael Patrick Fisher; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Katherine Graves, Edward, Theresa and Elizabeth Ann DeWeese, and Carolyn Wilhelm. Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Chaplain Herb Wilker will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
