Denver C. Barnes, 76, of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, April 12, 2013, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Born Tuesday, December 22, 1936 in Bell County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Claude Barnes and the late Mary Cooper Barnes.
On November 26, 1958 he married Eileen Carter,they had 55 beautiful years together, enjoying family, friends, and church family, his wife survives in Lima.
He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Lima, He was a member of Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
He enjoyed playing his guitar and shared with his children the gift of music which they will carry with them forever. He was known as a kind and gentle man, always greeting you with a smile saying 'I'm glad you got to see me."
Surviving are two sons; Keith (Charlene) Barnes of Wapakoneta, OH and Tim (Jill) Barnes of Cridersville, OH, and a daughter, Tammy (Wes) Hites of Harrod, OH. Also surviving are ten grandchildren; Shana, Brianne (Brian). Brandon, Travis, Taylor, Christina (Brad), Kayla, Megan, Bryon and Allyshia. Also five great-grandchildren; Keagan, Layla, Layne, Tarynn and Cendryk.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; Lena Brooks and Bullah Jackson.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2013 at Lima Missionary Baptist Church and from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, Tuesday at the church.
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Lima Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Brock, officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery
