Desma A.Verbryke,
95 of Lima, Ohio died on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 10:05 P.M. after a long battle with heart disease, at her daughters residence in Lima, Ohio and surrounded by her family.
Born Friday, March 16, 1917 in Van Wert County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. Butler and the late Gertrude (Rhodes) Butler.
Mrs. Verbryke married Donald O. Verbryke on November 29, 1936. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1988. In 1936 she graduated from South High School. She was a homemaker and she retired from Montgomery Ward after 28 years. She was a member of the Bethal Church of Christ, Ada, Ohio. She loved the Reds, crocheting and playing cards.
Surviving are: four daughters, Sharon (Donald) Simpkins of Elida, OH, Betty (Thomas) Hirn of Lima, OH, Donna Decker of Elida, OH and Gloria (Richard) Swartz of Spencerville, OH; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: three brothers, Gordan Butler, Arthur Butler, Jr., and Coral Butler; three sisters, Louise Conner, Rhea Miller and Naomi Point.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, and one hour prior to the services, at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Rev. Harrison Underwood officiating.
Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, OH.
