Don Niese, 50 of Lima, Ohio died on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born Sunday, July 23, 1961 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Albert G. Niese and the late Julianna M. Siebeneck Niese. He was the husband of Sherri Hall Niese.
He was employed by Rays Supermarket.
Mr. Niese was Director of Fresh Foods for Chiefs and Rays Supermarkets and had been in the grocery business for over 30 years. He was a member St. Charles Catholic Church, 1980 Graduate of Lima Central Catholic. Enjoyed playing softball and coaching his sons basketball team. He enjoyed playing poker with friends. Member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #199, Lima. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers Fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was extremely proud of his children and loved talking about them to others.
Surviving are a son, Dalton Niese of at Home, a daughter, Meredith Niese of at Home, brothers, Michael Niese of Fort Wayne, IN and Ronald Niese of Lima, OH, sisters, Rose Ann (Lloyd) Minton of Lima, OH, Patricia Niese of Greenville, OH, Marie Niese of Lima, OH, Betty (Mike) Quigley of Cincinnati, OH, Mary Alice Niese of Lima, OH and Barbara (Carl) Hambleton of Lima, OH. Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Albert Niese, Jerry Niese and Paul Niese, and a sister, Jane Niese.
Visitation time is Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 P.M. with a wake service at 8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Blum officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani, Lima, OH.
