Donald G. "Pops" Anderson

Donald G. "Pops" Anderson, 78 of Lima, Ohio died AT 10:15 AM on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

Born Thursday, January 23, 1936 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred Anderson and the late Gladys Shaw Anderson. On October 18th, 1959 he married Eileen Craver Anderson who preceded him in death on April 18th, 2010.

He retired after 30 years of service from General Dynamics.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, a former Sunday School Teacher and a former leader of their Royal Rangers. He was also a past volunteer for the Johnny Appleseed Parks.

Pops was a man of many talents. He loved old westerns and was a huge Spartan soccer fan. His grandchildren loved to listen to his stories and he loved kisses from his dog Sparky. The family will greatly miss him but will take comfort in the fact he is with the Lord and the love of his life Eileen.

Surviving is: a daughter Tana (Willie) Porter of Lima, OH; a son, Tod (Kim) Anderson of Spencerville, OH; Eight grandchildren Austin Anderson, Valerie Porter, Amy (Brian) Schroeder, Whitney (Tom) Paniagua, Tod Aron Anderson, Jayden Anderson, Joel Anderson, Jase Anderson, 4 great grandchildren, a sister Betty McElroy of Lima, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Anderson of Cridersville.

He was predeceased in death by his brothers, Fred and William Anderson.

Visitation will be on Wednesday August 20th from 5 - 8 pm. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 21st at 11 am. Pastor Randy Davis will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.
