Donald J. Bowers,

93, formerly of Allentown, OH, died at 9:43 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Donald was born on Thursday, November 27, 1924, in Delphos, OH to Donald and Nellie (Redmon) Bowers.  On Saturday, July 26, 1947, in Allentown, he married Mary I. Baxter, who predeceased him in 2012.

He was a United States Army Veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #1275 and the American Legion Post 180, Louisville, KY.

He is survived by: son, William R. (Sharon A.) Bowers, Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Eric R. (Holly) Bowers, Columbus, OH, Cristopher D. (Amy) Bowers, Greenville, SC and Jenna R. Bowers, Louisville, KY; also survived by five great grandchildren Dont’e, David, and Daniel McGee and Roman and Kensington Bowers; sister, Alice J. (Elmer C.) Davis, Cumming, GA and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, March 01, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 10 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.  Rev. Larry Blunden will officiate.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
