Donald A. Bush, 83, died at 5:11 a.m. August 4, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born May 24, 1925, in Memphis, Tennesse, to William A. and Bernice L. Siders Bush, who preceded him in death. On September 1, 1946, he married Betty Finnegan, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Bush retired as an accounting supervisor from Standard Oil Refinery, after 34 years. He was a charter member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, where he was treasurer for 27 years. He was a longtime member of the Shawnee Bowman Archery Club. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, where he received the Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with one bronze star, the Good Conduct Medal, the Purple heart and the Air Medal. He loved to golf. Survivors also include a daughter, Linda (Bill) Flarida, of Lima, Ohio; a son, Donald W. (Denise) Bush, of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Shelli (Byron) Craig, Kimberly (Chad) Putnam, Jodi (Eric) Wireman and Scott (Robyn) Bush; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park United Methodist Church. The Rev. Derek Russell will officiate. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
