DONALD R. OSBORN, 77, died at 2:30 a.m. October 7, 2004, at his residence. He was born March 17, 1927, in Tiffin, Ohio to Ted and Ruth Bowman Osborn, who preceded him in death. On June 18, 1949, he married Eileen Youngberg, who survives in Elida, Ohio. Mr. Osborn retired as administrator of Corinthian Nursing Home, Kenton, Ohio. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Lima, Ohio. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3333 and American Legion Post 198, both in Kenton, Ohio. He was a member of the American College of Nursing Home Administrators. He was awarded the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Honorary Founders Award. He received a certificate of appreciation for support of the National World War II Memorial and a certificate of recognition for service during the Cold War, September 2, 1945, to December 2, 1947. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving from June 8, 1945, to March 29, 1947. Survivors also include three daughters, Pam Osborn Newland of Atlanta and Candi Osborn and Kaye Donovan, both of Elida, Ohio; five grandchildren, Naomi Newland, Doug (Jeanette) Newland and Lexi Newland, all of Atlanta, Sgt. Timothy Donovan of Quantico, Virginia, and Josh Donovan of Lima, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Timothy Donovan, Emily Newland and Kaylyn Donovan; two brothers, Howard Osborn of Lima, Ohio and Jim (Carol) Osborn of Teachey, N.Carolina; and two grandsons by love, Sgt. James Kirk and Cpl. Justin Kirk, both of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and infant John Earl Osborn. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the youth group at First Assembly of God Church.
