Donald Schlereth

DONALD LOUIS "DOC" SCHLERETH, 81, died at 6:20 p.m. July 11, 2004, at his residence. He was born February 23, 1923, in Akron, Ohio to Louis and Grace Mumau Schlereth, who preceded him in death. On March 6, 1946, he married M. June Hostetler, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Schlereth had been a boiler operator for Lima Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Cable Road Missionary Alliance Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Lima Area Woodcarvers Association. He was an Army veteran serving from Jan. 14, 1943, to Feb. 27, 1946. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors also include two daughters, Robin (Stephen) Miller and Deborah Lee (Warren George) Schlereth; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Schlereth. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Willis Stemen will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
