Donald Ward

DONALD K. WARD, 79, died at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 17, 2005, at Lima Convalescent Home. He was born June 12, 1925, in Lima to Charles R. and Susie Florance Glover Ward, who preceded him in death. Mr. Ward had been in the drapery business for more than 50 years and had owned Penn Ward Draperies, Phoenix, for more than 25 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving from Aug. 23, 1943, to Jan. 10, 1946. Survivors include a sister, Jane M. Kimmel of Lima; his dear friend, Donna Cox of Phoenix; and four nephews and a niece, Ronald Ward of Michigan, Thomas Ward, Sandra K. Baker and William Kimmel, all of Lima, and Michael Kimmel of Conneaut. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russel C. Ward. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Bryan Bucher will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Shawnee Cemetery.
