DONNA KAY STOKES SHIBLER, 69, died at 12:10 a.m. April 29, 2006, at her residence. She was born March 21, 1937, in Lima, Ohio to Earl Hewitt Stokes and Celesta Verna Hall Stokes, who preceded her in death. Ms. Shibler was employed at the Allen County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmentally Disabilities for 25 years as a supervisor, workshop assistant, bus aid and teacher's assistant at the school, and workshop assistant at Marimor Industries. She was active in every event there, including the Special Olympics. She was also a basketball coach. She was a Wineheimer Award Recipient. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include a niece and caregiver, Becky Stokes (Eldon) Hartman of Lima, Ohio; three brothers, John "Dick" (Marilyn) Stokes, Harry Stokes, and Charles (Sandy) Stokes, all of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Patricia Stokes Needham of Lima, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Hewitt Stokes, Donald Stokes, Glenn Stokes, Earl Jr. Stokes and David Stokes; and two sisters, Mary Elinore Stokes Nettles and Verna Isabelle Stokes Davis. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis Reindel will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
