Doris Jean Shoup

94, died at 4:00 AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.

Doris was born on January 20, 1924, in Alger, Ohio, to the late Robert Louis Calvert  and Verda Marie (Austin) Calvert.  On September 26, 1941, in Lima, Ohio, she married Harold M. Shoup, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1999.

She attended Lima South High School, and Grace Baptist Church. She worked at Lima Elks B.P.O.E. 54 and Clems Bakery. She loved to read and do embroidery

She is survived by her children, Janice Rowena (Lowell) Rickett, of Lima, OH, Lois Shoup, of Defiance, OH, Betty (Tim) Strempka, of Hammond, IN, and Laura (Dale) Foltz, of Lima, OH, and two daughters-in-law Sharon Shoup, of Lima, OH and Barbara Shoup-Sprague of Lima OH; thirteen grandchildren, William, Lisa, Debra, Justin, Kristina, Leslie, Stacey, Stephanie, Mary, Derrick, Kenneth, Jolanne, Josh; and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Harold and Michael Shoup, two sisters, June Schweitzer, and Carolyn Rickett-Bailey and a brother, Harold Austin Calvert.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 21, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Matthew Oliver will officiate.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
