Dorothy Bennett

Dorothy E. Bennett, 98, of Lima, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Kessler Estates. She was born on May 10, 1926 in Lima to the late Thomas and Hazel {Voltz} Sowards.

Dorothy worked for Sears Roebuck in Lima for 40 years. She was a member of White Shrine and a previous member of Olivet Presbyterian Church. She loved dogs and cats.

She is survived by her stepdaughter: Vicki Hetrick, nieces: Linda Renkert, Jane Kline, Cheryl Lenhart, Cheryl (Tim) Martin, Chris (David) Deitrick, Beverly (Dwight) Watkins, and Fanita Frantz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald P. Bennett, sisters: Fanita Joseph, Imogene Lenhart, and Miriam Lentz, stepson: David Bennett, Nieces: Chris Bash and Darlene Patterson, and nephew: Lewis Lenhart.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the funeral home. Rev. Dottie Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
