Dorothy R. Carey, 92, of Defiance, formerly of Lima, died at 5:45 a.m. November 20, 2010, at Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center, Defiance, Ohio. She was born July 4, 1918, in Lima, Ohio to Carl P. and Caddie Worthington Knerr, who preceded her in death. In November 1940, in Lima, Ohio, she married H.W. ?Budd? Carey, who died May 17, 1983. Mrs. Carey was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima, and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary in Defiance, Ohio. She also was a member of the AMVETS auxiliary in Defiance, Ohio. Survivors also include two daughters, Barbara (Bill) Senner, of Gardenerville, Nevada, and Patti (Bud) Nixon, of Defiance, Ohio; three grandchildren, Becky (Eric) Rock, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Robert Senner and Breanna Senner, both of Gardenerville, Nevada; and two great-grandchildren, Nichole Rock and Adam Rock, both of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Radulovich. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. Pastor Wanda Werking will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
