Dorothy Debacher

Dorothy F. Debacher 85, died at 8:40 p.m. March 9, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born February 13, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Jacob F. and Cecilia C. Schackmar Debacher, who preceded in her death. Miss Debacher was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a 1943 graduate of St. Rose High School. She graduated from The Ohio State University on Dec. 19, 1947, and from Case Western Reserve on June 12, 1957. She had worried at Berea Hospital, Cleveland and at St. Rita?s School of Nursing and Lima Technical College as an instructor and director of nursing. She was a member of the State Teachers Association. She served on the Lima Visiting Nurses Board. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens Service. Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie Debacher and Joan (Frank) Hageman, both of Lima; three nieces, Karen Brown, Diane Hageman and Janet Harpest; four nephews, Jim Hageman, Dan Hageman, Bill Hageman and Rob Hageman; and five great nephews and a great-niece. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father James McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund at Rhodes State College or St. Gerard Catholic Church, 240 W.
