Dorothy Alice Hilty, 88, died at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 16, 2008, at The Ridge at Shawnee. She was born April 13, 1920, in Lima to Carl G. and Gladys Warthman Lee, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 9, 1941, she married William Ross Hilty, who died June 3, 2008. Mrs. Hilty had worked at the Brunner News Agency. She was a member of South Side Christian Church, where she had been the organist. She had also been an organist for Central Church of Christ, Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star. She taught piano to many. Survivors include two sons, Paul Erwin (Charis) Hilty, of Greenville, Ind., and William Carl (Mexica) Hilty, of Harrod; four grandchildren, William Scott Hilty, of Columbus, Travis Austin (Anne) Hilty, of Fairlawn, Tamaron (John) Harsh, of Delaware, Ohio, and Wendi (Curtis E.) Brown, of Ramsey, Ind.; and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren, Logan, Calvin, Angelique, JosepH, Tabitha, Shawn and Kristina. She was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Hilty; and a brother, Robert G. Lee. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Wanda Werking will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
