Dorothy Fridley Shaw

Dorothy Louise Fridley Shaw 83, died at 8:30 a.m. July 25, 2007, at Burton?s Ridge Assisted Living. She was born May 23, 1924, in Lima, Ohio to Osborne Y. and L o u i s e Deaubler Fridley, who preceded her in death. On November 17, 1950, she married Ora L. Shaw, who died in 1972. Mrs. Shaw retired in 1987 as a corporate vice president/secretary from Citizens Loan & Building Co., after 31 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she had been an assistant treasurer and had served on the board of its United Methodist Women. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, and Trinity Chapter 19 Order of Eastern Star. She was a volunteer and member of the auxiliary at St. Rita?s Medical Center and Otterbein-Cridersville and had served on the board of the YWCA. She was a 1942 graduate of Lima Central High School. Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Gary) Semple, of Lima, Ohio; a stepson, Dean (Jan) Shaw, of Thousand Oaks, California; two grandchildren, Craig (Suzanne) George, of Columbus,Ohio, and Elizabeth George, of Charlotte, N.Carolina; two step grandsons, Rob (Denise) Shaw, of Newbury Park, California, and Brad Shaw, of Camarillo, California; and two step great-granddaughters, Caitlin Shaw and Julianne Shaw. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, James P. O?Neill. Services will begin at 8 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. James Kuhn will officiate. A private burial of the cremains will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
