Dorothy Louise (McCann) Webb quietly passed away on May 26, 2021, she was 89 years old.
“Dotty” was born in Lima in 1932 to Gertrude (Stonestreet) and Dale McCann. She attended Lima Central High School and in 1951 she was married to the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Webb. They were together for over sixty-six years with all the happiness, as well as the trials and tribulations, that come from living a full life. Richard preceded her in death in 2017.
Dorothy is survived by their children, Patricia (Charlie) Mantel, David (Jenny) Webb, Cathy (Steve) Stoodt, Nancy Webb, and Chadwick (Tonya) Webb all of Lima. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Sean Hennen, Brian Hennen, David Mantel, Brent Mantel, Michael Webb, Rachel Webb, Tammy Gray, Christy Sullivan, Scott Webb, Zachary Wilson, Jessica Paul, Bailey Webb, Gabriel Webb, and Emma Webb. She also is survived by twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Dorothy also deeply loved her succession of pets through the years and she is survived by her beloved Maltese dog, Lily.
Before the mobility issues that plagued her in later years, Dorothy had loved playing BINGO and she frequented many of the games operated for various local charities; enjoying the company of her many friends. She also enjoyed occasional bus trips to casinos with Richard and their friends as well as gambling road trips with the family. Penny slots were her limit.
Dorothy’s family loved her dearly and did what was necessary to keep her in her own home despite her severe disabilities. Daughter, Nancy; grandson, Scott; and granddaughter-in-law, Isabelle lived with her as her health deteriorated, shouldering most of the responsibility for Dorothy’s daily care. The family thanks them for their devotion.
