Douglas Lowell Daly,
93, of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 8:50 P.M. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

Born Thursday, October 24, 1918 in Port Huron, Michigan, he was the son of the late Lowell V. Daly and the late Zola Allen Daly. He married Ruth Urhan who preceded him in death and on May 11, 1974 he married Arline Dahlke and she survives in Lima.

He was employed by Ohio Northern University.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist-Lima; Fraternal Order of Eagles #370-Lima; taught math at Port Huron High School, Port Huron, MI. He was a Professor of Mathematics at Indiana University, University of Kentucky, University of Missouri, and Illinois Wesleyan University (Head of Math Dept.). He moved to the Ohio Northern University in 1967 and retired in 1980. Also a member of Pi Mu Epsilon.

Survivors are: brother-in-laws, Donald L. (Betty) Dahlke , and Theodore V. (Betty) Dahlke, both of Lima; a sister-in-law Dorothy M. Schafer of Lima; two cousins, Robert (Ruth) Miller and Fred (Kathleen) Helmer both of Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: a brother-in-law, Everett Dahlke, and a sister-in-law, Donna J. Craig.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 6 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Richard Riggs officiating

Private Entombment will be at the convenience of the family

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ohio Northern University or the University of Michigan Math Departments or Donor's Choice.

Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, OH.
