Douglas Stevenson
78, died at 10:20 PM on Friday, November 20, 2015, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.

Douglas was born on Friday, November 19, 1937, in Artigarvan, Co. Tyrone, N. Ireland, to the late James Knox Stevenson and Henrietta (Pollock) Stevenson.

Douglas married Margaret Hall on March 28, 1968 in Donagheady Church. On April 18th they relocated to America. She survives in Lima. He retired from the City of Lima Public works. He was a long time member of Market St. Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Horace Mann and West Jr. High PTA., Lima Senior Music Boosters, YMCA Soccer program, was a leader in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching the PGA Tour. He also played in the City/County Employees Golf Leagues. Douglas was an excellent handyman, using his talents where needed to help anyone

He is survived by two sons, Hall (Amy) Stevenson, Alan (Sarah) Stevenson, a daughter, Laura (Bill) Stonebraker; six grandchildren, Ashley (Jim) Luana, Garrett, Tierney, Ryleigh, Mac and Aiden; three great grandchildren, Khloe, Kirk and Klaire; a sister, Hazel Cummings and two brothers, Derek (Kathleen) Stevenson, and Colin (Isobel) Stevenson.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Billy Cummings.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 P.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Visitation at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Market St. Presbyterian Church in Lima, OH. Rev. Dr. Mark Rich will officiate.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.

The family would like to thank the Lima Memorial Hospital, all doctors and nurses, therapists and staff and the Putnam County Hospice for their wonderful care.
