Dwight F. Nicolet,
88, died at 10:42 AM on Tuesday, March 04, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Dwight was born on January 28, 1926, in Lima, Ohio, to the late John Howard Nicolet and Cora M. (McClure) Nicolet.
On April 1, 1945 Dwight married Betty J. Martin. She survives in Lima. He served in the United States Air Force from 1944 to 1945 during WWII. He was employed by the United States Government retiring after 36 years. He was a member of South Side Christian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and was the Friendly Christians president and treasurer. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #54 Lima; Eagles Aerie, Lima; Kiwanis International; "Pinochle Gang", and Bridge Clubs. He coached little league baseball and midget football. He refereed basketball for several years. He played in a badminton league and also played numerous years in the Lima Golf Association events. He was a beloved husband, father and deeply loved and supported his four grandchildren.
He is survived by: two sons Larry A. (Joan) Nicolet, of Zionsville, IN, Dan D. (Marylon) Nicolet, of Denton, TX; four grandchildren, Mindy Lyn Nicolet, of Whitestown, IN, Molly Lea Nicolet, of Chicago, IL, Mark (Meg) Nicolet, of Denver, CO, Jessica Jean Nicolet, of San Francisco, CA; two step grandchildren, Ashlee (Todd) Cawthorn, and Michelle Russell both of Texas, two step great grandchildren, Cameron Cawthorn and Evan Cawthorn, both of TX; a sister Marthabelle Skinner; brother-in-law, Walter Martin; several nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 08, 2014 at South Side Christian Church in Lima, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 08, 2014 at South Side Christian Church in Lima, OH, with Rev. Wanda Werking officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
