74, died at 9:45 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
George was born on April 23, 1939, in Delphos, Ohio, to the late Wilfred Theobald and Dessie (Rayle) Theobald.
On December 14, 1973 he married Barbara E Treadway. She survives in Lima. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1964. He was a Millwright at the Teledyne Steel Foundry, Lima. He was a member of Silver Sneakers and the Lima Eagles Aerie #370. He enjoyed Bluegrass, cooking, gardening, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by: two sons Mike Theobald, of Wapakoneta, OH, Steve Theobald, of Tecumseh, MI; two daughters Julie (Roy) Gillespie, of Cridersville, OH, and Brenda (Keith) Mensing, of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Sarah (Jeremy) Wilson, Jason (Mari) Harnishfeger, Debbie (Seth) Allen, and Shelby Gillespie; seven great grandchildren; a sister Ruth LaRue, a sister Cork Hammons, a brother John (Rita) Theobald, a brother Paul (Nireva) Theobald, a sister Naomi Theobald.
He was preceded in death by: a son Rick Theobald; and a sister Norma Adams.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, with Dr. Daniel H. Messner officiating.
