E. KATHRYN THOMAS, 84, died at 10:20 a.m. Feb. 7, 2006, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Lincoln County, Tenn., to Andrew Louis and Pearl Bradlay Rigel, who preceded her in death. On July 30, 1938, she married John Jacob Thomas, who survives in Lima. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple. Survivors also include four daughters, Patricia (John) Mowen, Janet Irene Thomas, Sandra (James) Downhower and Mary (Ronald) Neth, all of Lima; two sons, Jay Thomas of Denver and Michael (Pam) Thomas of Lima; a sister, Marjorie Jones of Lima; a brother, Ted Rigel of Florida; eight grandchildren, Janet Bocook and James (Renee) Downhower Jr., both of Columbus, Erica Thomas of Lansing, Mich., John (Melissa) Neth and Brad Thomas, both of Lima, Jamie Downhower of Chicago and Scott (Erin) Neth and Barbara Thomas, both of Lima; six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Leonard Frymyer of Lima; and a sister-in-law, Alice Rigel of Lima. She was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Rigel; two sisters, Hazel (Elmer) Hubbard and Dorothy Frymyer; and a brother-in-law, Howard Jones. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Lima Baptist Temple. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
