Edgar Jesse Woodley

Edgar Jesse Woodley went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2014. He was born on August 27, 1936 to the Union of the late Willie and Maude Jones Woodley in Lima, Ohio.

Jessie dedicated his life to Christ at an early age under the Pastor-ship of the Reverend Leroy McGhee and was baptized into membership at Fourth S treet Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Woodley attended the Lima City Schools and was a United States Army Veteran. He retired as a millwright from Teledyne Ohio Steel and later from Superior Forge Steel.

Jesse in his retired life became an "armchair" Political Pundit and was affectionately known as JNN (Jesse News Network) for his uncanny ability to know what was going on everywhere at all times.

Jesse departed for Heaven at 2:20 P.M. on Sunday August 31st, having celebrated his 78th birthday several days before.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his twin daughters; Patricia Sanders and her husband Will Sanders of Miramar, FL; Pamela Fox and her husband Brian Fox of Voorhees, NJ; two brothers, Willis Woodley of Lima, OH and Norman Woodley , his wife Charlene, of Detroit, MI; five sisters, Dorothy Smith and Barbara Stewart of Cleveland, OH; Bernice Upthegrove, Stella Clark and Ruthann Ward of Lima; his three beloved grandsons, Kyle, Trey, Will; his former wife and "Bestie" Patricia Woodley, as well as numerous friends at speedway, Lester's, chief/Rays where he was known as Uncle Jesse.

Lastly, his three brothers who preceded him in death, Haskell Woodley, Clifford Woodley and Donald Woodley.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral home, Thursday, September 4, 2014.

Services will be on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:00P.M. at the 4th St. Missionary Baptist church, with Pastor Ernest Stephens officiating.

Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery with a Military Rites conducted by the VFW Post 1275.
