Edward M. "Ed" Meeks, Jr., 89 of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
Born Sunday, April 9, 1922 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edward M. Meeks, Sr. and the late Grace Davis Meeks. He was married to his wife of 69 years, Betty Rhoades Meeks who survives.
He was retired from Sohio/B.P. Petroleum Refinery as a shift supervisor
He was a WWII Navy veteran. He retired from the Sohio/British Petroleum refinery as a shift supervisor after 33 years.
Also surviving is a son, Edward M. Meeks, III of Amherst, OH, a brother, Philip S. Meeks of Lima, OH, a sister, Marjorie Bryan of Lima, OH, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by a daughter, Beverly Naftzger and two sisters, Hope White and Gloria Joseph.
There will be private family services and the interment will be in Cairo West Cemetery at a later date.
