86, of Chillicothe, Ohio died on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at 5:20 P.M. at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Born October 17, 1926 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Isaac States and the late Edith (Williams) States.
Mr. States married V. Ruth Beeler on June 9, 1979. She preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army. He was a Maintenance Technician for St. Rita's Medical Center. He was formerly a freemason and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Surviving is: a daughter, Sandi (Kenneth) Stephens of Chillicothe, OH; two grandchildren, Erika (Steve) Demint and Kirk Stephens, both of Chillicothe, OH; several great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son, David States; a brother, Willard States; and sister, Isabell Lehman.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Benjamin officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, OH.
