Edwin Pollock

Edwin Mark Pollock, 78, died at 10:26 a.m. May 5, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born January 12, 1930, in Van Wert County, Ohio to William Ernest and Alwilda Sherman Pollock, who preceded him in death. On May 31, 1952, he married Phyllis Case, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Pollock retired as chief industrial engineer from Airfoil/Tex-Tron. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple, where he served as a deacon and helped with the Pathfinder class. He was a member of American Legion Post 5803, Van Wert, Ohio. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 126, Waynesfield, Ohio. He served on the Marimor School Board and was an adviser for Junior Achievement. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from June 22, 1948, to April 4, 1952. He loved to golf. Survivors also include two daughters, Denise (Brad) Butterfield, of Cridersville, Ohio, and Carol Jankow, of Lima, Ohio; a son, Alan Pollock, of Lima, Ohio; four brothers, Murlin ?Mike? (Pat) Pollock, of Van Wert, Ohio, Ernest (Ann) Pollock, of Phoenix Arizona, Frank Pollock, of Middle Point, Ohio, and Karl ?Pete? (Karen) Pollock, of Clearwater, Florida; two sisters, Elsie M. Long, of Middle Point, Ohio, and Shirley ?Sue? (Harold) Wagner, of Delphos, Ohio; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Richard ?Dick,? Pollock, William ?David,? Pollock, Stanley Pollock, Gene Pollock and Wayne Pollock; and two sisters, Betty Miller and JoAnn Robidoux. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Harman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
