Edwin J. Weierman, 81, died Dec. 28, 2008, of natural causes at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Va., while returning home from spending Christmas with his family in Virginia Beach, Va. He was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Pandora to Edwin Pearl and Amy Grace Frankhouser Weierman, who preceded him in death. On July 30, 1949, he married Reathel June Snodgrass, who survives in Lima. Mr. Weierman retired in 1989 from Nickles Bakery, after 39 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher for several years and helped wherever he was needed. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving from Oct. 1, 1945, to Nov. 19, 1948, where he most notably assisted in the return of our veterans from the Pacific Theater. He loved the Lord and his family. He never knew a stranger because he always found common ground with them. He delighted in growing flowers and appreciated good poetry, even writing some of his own. He loved fishing for the "big one" and was a fisher of men. He loved studying the Scriptures and had a deep understanding of them. He was a man of compassion and deep feelings for everything that mattered. He enjoyed laughter and making others laugh. Survivors also include three daughters, Patricia J.
