Eileen Sands Welch

Eileen W. Sands Welch 83, died at 4:30 a.m. September 25, 2007, Lima Convalescent Home. She was born January 29, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio to Everett and Nora Duffy Sands, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Welch retired from patient accounts/business office at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, where she had been a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She had been an assistant Girl Scout leader and a blood donor for the American Red Cross for several years. Survivors include five daughters, Susan Brunk, Debbie A. (Richard) Umfleet, Cindy L. (Kevin) Bruin and Laura Welch, all of Lima, Ohio, and Sheila L. (Mark) Conrad, of Elida, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Robert Atterbury. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Welch and Pamela Lee Atterbury; and three brothers, Billy Sands, Carl Sands and Buddy Sands. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio. The Rev. William J. Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
