Ellen Schlabach Wright
91, died on Monday, November 10, 2014, at Lochhaven in Lima, Ohio.

Ellen was born on February 19, 1923, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, to the late Otto M. and Eleanor (Hugus) Schlabach.

Ellen married W. James "Jim" Wright on July 17, 1945 in LaCrosse, WI. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2007. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Lima; League of Women Voters; Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lima; Allen County Democratic Party; and the HY-HO Club Advisory Board.

She is survived by: two daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Werner, of Fort Myers Beach, FL, and Christine (Al) Wright, of Radnor, PA; a son, Daniel J. (Therese Spellacy) Wright, of Oberlin, OH; a sister, Marian Ramlow, of LaCrosse, WI; five grandchildren, Greg Werner, of Boulder, CO, Karin (Greg) Werner, of Washington, DC, Harris Cornell, of Radnor, PA, Helen Tingler and Emily Tingler, both of Cleveland, OH; one great granddaughter, Caroline Werner; a brother-in-law, Paul (Janice) Wright, and two sisters-in-law, Wilma (Bob) Seiler and Carol Wright and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Anne Burkhardt and Peggy Dalzell.

Ellen's inclusive and welcoming nature, her dedication to fairness and equality for all had real impact on many who met her. Her commitment to the Lima community was evidenced by her many efforts in local organizations and activities.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH.

In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lima or Tri-Moraine Audubon Society or to a charity of the donor's choice..
