ELWANDA "BONNIE" IRENE LONG, 78, died at 9:55 p.m. Deccember 29, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born November 8, 1928, in Lima, Ohio to Ora and Violet Van Atta Rodenberger, who preceded her in death. She married John S. Smith, who died in 1986. In 1988, she married Harold P. Long, who survives. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and very active in the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 52, Lima, Ohio, serving as senior regent. She was an avid bowler for many years. Survivors also include a son, John Michael Smith, of Lima, Ohio; two daughters, Pamela (Craig) Mathias, of Lima, Ohio, and Judy Meyer, of Texas; a stepson, Larry Long, of Defiance, Ohio; a brother, Owen (Helen) Rodenberger, of California; two sisters, Virginia Swem, of Lima, Ohio, and Wanda Fellows, of California; and nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Maybry, and five sisters. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. David Burkhart will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
