Emalou Phillips

EMALOU PHILLIPS, 92, died at 2:18 a.m. Feb. 25, 2007, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born July 7, 1914, in St. Marys to Harry and Florence Federspiel Wilcox, who preceded her in death. On June 15, 1940, in Ohio she married Ralph "Connie" Phillips, who died Dec. 15, 1968. Mrs. Phillips worked for Northrup King Seed Co., Lima, in inventory control. She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star, Trinity Chapter, and was a past matron. She was a 50-year member of Lima Shrine No. 20 Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem and was a past worthy high priestess. She was a member of St. Marys Court No. 50 Order of the Amaranth and was a past royal matron. She was a holder of the grand cross of colors for the Rainbow Girls. She was a life member of Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Karen M. Phillips, of Elida; a son, James F. (Sharon) Phillips, of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Kirk (Naomi) Phillips, of Georgetown, Ky., and Amy (Kent) Lovett, of Greensboro, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Lovett and Bailey Lovett, both of Greensboro, N.C.; a stepgreat-grandchild, Chad Lutz, of Georgetown, Ky.; and a stepgrandchild, Bradley Lutz, of Georgetown, Ky. She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence "Billie" Burkholder. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Cover will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a White Shrine service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
